MUARO JAMBI — Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin (STS) State Islamic University Jambi held the Grand Final of the 2025 Language Ambassador (Duta Bahasa) selection on Tuesday (Dec 23, 2025). The event, which took place at the fourth-floor Rectorate Amphitheater, was filled with enthusiasm. This competition is a routine agenda organized by the Language Development Unit (UPB) of UIN STS Jambi.
The Head of the Language Development Unit, Dr. Aris Dwi Nugroho, emphasized that the selection is more than just a ceremonial annual event. According to him, the title of Language Ambassador represents a concrete commitment to preserving the nation’s language and culture. Therefore, the finalists are expected to carry out this mandate sustainably.
He further explained that Language Ambassadors bear a significant responsibility in developing linguistic literacy within the campus environment. Additionally, they are expected to serve as role models in using proper Indonesian. Thus, the role of a Language Ambassador does not end once the title is awarded.
